Discover the world of robotics!

summer science camp

Here are some the adventures your child will experience during the morning session:

Children design their own robot and discover that all machines are made from only six simple machines. Then they use levers to build their own robot marionette.

All robots need power. Children add batteries to their robots and explore electricity and circuits while building their very own LED flashlight.

Children learn how frames provide strength and support to structures around us. They then become engineers and build the strongest bridge model they can engineer.

To be truly independent, robots need to be able to move. Children discover how complicated walking can be and add the legs to the body of their robot.

Sound is a form of energy caused by vibrations that travel through the air as waves. Children then experiment with amplitude to create a spy ear using an electric amplifier.

Children learn about optical illusions while they experiment with their new incredible 3D glasses.

Here are some the adventures your child will experience during the afternoon session:

Get ready for a moving experience as children turn energy into motion. They learn how about pneumatics and hydraulics as they pop up the head of their robot.

Campers will get a real charge out of science when they create a magnet using electricity. They then build and play an electromagnetic game energize them.

Children learn how motors work as they use their imagination along with the electricity in a battery to create their own motorized invention.

Campers come to grips with robots as they learn how robots use grippers to manipulate their environment. Then they construct their own gripping device and test them on different objects.

Many robots can crawl, walk, or roll from one place to another. How do they do it without getting lost? Today, the children discover how a map and compass work to keep navigators on course.

Each day ends with an exciting game that reinforces scientific concepts and promotes teambuilding. These activities are essential to embedding the science learned every day!

Campers compete to put together the puzzle of a robot. Each correct answer is a step closer in a game designed to review all the exciting concepts and science fun of the past week.
