Curriculum
The Champions Online Tutoring program reflects content standards, process standards, and guiding principles published by the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) in the year 2000. It also draws upon the five strands identified by the National Research Council’s committee on Mathematics learning (2001) to achieve “mathematical proficiency,” (conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, strategic competence, adaptive reasoning: and productive disposition) as well as the three clusters of concepts known as the Critical Foundation for Algebra (Fluency with Whole Numbers, Fluency with Fractions, and Particular Aspects of Geometry and Measurement) as identified by the National Math Advisory Panel (2008).
