Champions® Do-Right Crew character enhancement focuses on developing the ability to care about and empathize with others while also promoting spirit, courage and enthusiasm. Our Do-Right Kids enhancement serves preschool and kindergarten students. Some of the key ways in which we nurture these attributes in the children we serve are the following:
Community Involvement – Involving children in community activities, such as those with Champions’ community partner, the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, food drives, community clean-up efforts, etc.
Mentoring – Having older program children mentor younger children through programs such as Reading Buddies, Homework Buddies, Acts of Kindness that Make a Difference, etc.
Conflict Resolution – Nurturing positive conflict resolution skills by establishing peer counselors, Kids’ Court to solve disputes, etc.
Diversity – Emphasizing the value of diversity through projects and community outreach activities, such as celebrating family traditions, creating a multicultural cookbook, pen pal projects with kids in other countries, etc.
Family Involvement – Involving families in activities that strive to develop children’s character and commitment levels, such as family reading challenges, family visit days, family game nights, tracking at-home chores, etc.
